I was thinking of a shoulder length chop cut, with swept bangs. Any suggestions or comments so to something that would look better, or if this cut would be bad or whatever?

I have naturally curly hair and its super thick. When I straighten it, it looks bland and my ends are weird looking. I really want the emoscene cut , but my mom is convinced it wont work and my hair is 'beautiful the way it is' I was wanting to look into a straight perm thing but i heard that totally ruins your hair.
