What works best for Dandruff? Dandruff Treatment

What works best for dandruff? My wife is always brushing my shoulders and buying me new shampoos from the chemist. It can be very embarrassing sometimes.

Dandruff is caused by dryness in the scalp which causes it to flake. Two shampoos available over the counter are worth a try for curing dandruff: Selsun and Nizoral. They work in different ways so try one first and switch if first shampoo does not helps. If your dandruff is accompanied by scaly skin patches, you may have psoriasis.

If you suffer from dandruff, look for special "dandruff control" products instead of using normal shampoos. Extreme dandruff can be a major health problem. It is worth a visit to your GP to discuss treatment options for dandruff.

Dandruff can be a serious condition to treat, however there are some over the counter shampoos like Nizoral and Selsun that are formulated to assist in the treatment of dandruff. You can try more natural remedies like boiling white beets and applying to your scalp. Fenugreek seeds area also a natural remedy. The seeds are soaked overnight and than grounded into a paste that is applied to the head.

For extreme dandruff, selsun or nizoral are best options, but at an early stage one can use lemon. Gently rubbing lemon over the scalp regularly once or twice in a month keeps away dandruff.
