Long Dreadlocks, Hairstyle Advice Needed

I am black and I have had dreadlocks for the past years. They are kind of long, just below my shoulders.
The thing is I have a large forehead and I want to find a style that can camouflage it, without completely getting rid of my locks. ANy advice??? Thanks! [Sevveny 24-Aug-2007]

Dreadlocks may be defined as locks or matted hair rope which develops by themselves in hair as result of lack of proper brushing, combs for a long period of time. Consult a good hairdresser who can advice your on proper cutting.

Women and men can both wear dreadlocks. However women have more styling options than men. Men can wear their dreads long and free or put them up in a ponytail. Some styles that are universal for both men and women include the lock hawk, where the dreads are pinned up and formed like a Mohawk. A braid hawk is where the dreads are tied back into separate braids and form a crown, this look is mostly for women. Dreadlocks can also be curled with curling rods or dipped in boiling hot water to create a wavy appearance.

Dreadlocks are from a lack of brushing or combing, but it is possible to comb out some of the front ones and use them as bangs or, if your hair is not suitable to such a solution, the above referenced attempt to change their growing pattern is also a valid one.

Dreadlocks are not from a lack of proper brushing or combing. You can actually take down some of the locks in the front a create bangs.. or you can cut the locks in the front and pull them to the front the next time you wash them and let them dry like that...they will hold and if you let it they will eventually begin to feel natural that way.
