What r advantages/disadvantages of getting hightlights?
I have dark brown straight hair up to my waist, but im going to get a layered cut ... i also want to get red highlights, but my parents say it wont go good, what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting highlights? what color would go good with my hair? [Mechita, 29-Jan-2008]

Some advantages of highlights are that they brighten your skin tone, create beautiful contrast. Highlights give you a great idea and a preview of what your hair would look like if you dyed it completely. Some disadvantages of highlights is that the may not blend in with your natural hair color; it may be difficult to get a color that matches perfectly with your hair.
