A beehive is a hairstyle that resembles an actual beehive, mainly due to its shape. Although it is in cartoon form, a good example of what a beehive hairstyle is meant to look like is Marge Simpson's hair. When it was very popular for women to wear this hairdo in the 50's and 60's, the main goal that they aimed for was the tallest beehive. Nowadays, however, this is not such a popular trend.
 If you want to make a beehive hairdo more modern, the good news is that there are many different ways that you can do so. For example, consider adding hair accessories of your choice. Since height is no longer very popular with beehives, you will want to avoid making yours too high. Avoid putting all of your hair up in a beehive, but instead focus mainly on the front.
