Hair Perming Alternatives
Many people swear by hair perming. On many people, hair perms can look really wonderful because it provides the hair with body that they may not have been able to experience any other way. However, hair perming is a very drastic measure. A lot of people end up getting a hair perm, only to find out that they hate it later. In some cases, hair perming alternatives may be a much safer option. Below are a few of the perm alternatives that you may want to consider before deciding to get an actual perm.
Curling Irons
There are many different curling iron sizes that are available for you to choose from. They will all provide you with a different size of curls. You may want to consider learning how to use the curling iron. For smaller curls, opt for a smaller curling iron and do the hair in smaller sections. For larger curls, opt for a larger curling iron and do the hair in larger sections. Once you learn how to use the curling iron, you will be bound to love it.
Hot Rollers
Much like curling irons, hot rollers are available in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from small to large. Each size will also provide you with different sized curls. For most people, it takes a longer time to learn how to use hot rollers than it does to learn how to use curling irons. Once you do, however, you can really achieve some great curl results.
Change Hairstyles
There are certain hairstyles which are easier to style into curls than others. Typically, layered hairstyles are known to provide much better results than non-layered hairstyles. Although long and medium hairstyles tend to curl better, short choppy hairstyles are known to be very easy to style into curls. If you really want the curliest hair possible, you should consider getting a new hairstyle.
Consider Hair Extensions
Although the idea of getting hair extensions may seem tacky to you, they are a great way for you to get curls if you are unable to get them on your own. Many types of extensions come pre-curled, so you will not need to worry about curling them on your own or getting to learn how to use them. If you do think about getting hair extensions, however, it is important to learn about caring for them beforehand to get the most usage out of them.
These are just some of the perming alternatives which are available for you to choose from before you decide to get a perm. If you do make the final decision to get a perm, be sure to go to a reputable hair salon that is experienced with perming. A lot of the time, the wrong size rollers are used or the perm solution is used too long or not long enough and this results in a perm gone wrong. Although there are at-home perm kits available on the market, it is a good idea for you to avoid using them if you want the best results.
