1920s Makeup
Make up of the 1920's is all about glamour. The 1920's were the times of flappers and roaring parties. Although this is a time of tight money, this is also a time of great fun and excitement. Fun make up and bright colors were the hallmark of the time. To replicate this, there are some things one should follow.
20s Makeup Applying Tips
1. Apply an all over foundation and base cream. This will help to even the skin tone and create a flawless appearance. Over this, add a sheer but luminous powder to help to add to the glamour of the look.
2. Once the foundation and the powder is added to the entire face, one can work on the apples of the cheek. Apply a red sheer liquid blush to the face. The liquid blush is the closest in texture to the blush that was common in the 1920's and gives a very similar affect to the cheeks.
3. The eyes should be done in smoky colors. These colors were very popular in the 1920's and helped to call attention to the eyes, adding a definite sex appeal to the individual. Do not forget to line the tops and bottom lash lines with a black eye liner and to use black mascara. This helps to make the eyes appear bigger.
4. The eyebrows should be thinned and shaped to reveal a very sharp arch. This is the classic look of the 1920's. If one's eyebrows cannot be arched properly, applying fake eyebrows through the use of eyeliner can be effective.
5. Cupid's Bow is the normal style for 20s lips. This is achieved by lining the lips with a dramatic, dark lip liner. Be sure to pay attention to the bow area directly below the nose. This area and the fullest part of the bottom lip should be most noticeable. By not doing the entire length of the lips, the emphasis can be directed towards those two major points. Applying a dark red lipstick after the lip liner is applied helps to complete the look.
