Choosing Eyeshadow Colors
Eyeshadow is a wonderful makeup item that can help one enhance their eyes, making them more noticeable. The trouble with eye shadow is that there are so many colors and textures to choose from; it can be difficult to determine how to determine the eye shadow color that one should use. Luckily, there are some tips that can help with this dilemma.
How to Choose Best Color Eyeshadow
Choose the eye color for the skin and eye color, not for the outfit color.
It is of little consequence if the eyeshadow and the dress do not match. There is so much skin and beauty between the two, that people will focus on that, instead of matching eye shadow color to dress color. It is much better to match the eye shadow color to the surrounding skin color and eye color.
Determining the color that one should use to compliment the skin and eye color is no easy task in itself.
To get the best results, apply a small amount of the eye shadow on the back of one's hand. This helps to give an idea of what the eye color will look like on the skin. Once satisfied with the primary color, find complementing colors to act as a low light and a high light if desired.
Don't Afraid to experiments with Liquid or Cream Eyeshadows
If using cream or liquid eye shadows, it can be much easier to stick to a solid color eye shadow. If using a powder, the highlighting of the eye shadow is much easier, so experiment and see which you like best.
Using Low-lights & High Lights When Applying Eye Shadow
If using highlights and low lights, first apply the highlight to the entire eye area, usually all the way up into the eyebrow. Then apply the primary eyeshadow color to the lid of the eye. Once this is complete, use a touch of the low light at the corners to make the eyes appear bigger.
If eyeliner and mascara are going to be used, be sure to apply them first since they are easy to mess up and require washing if there is an error.
