Acne is not just having a pimple. Acne is a very popular skin disease that affects about 17 million people in the United States alone. Acne can be defined as a group of skin rashes that inflames the skin and affects the skins oil glands. Acne can be found all over the body including the face, back shoulders, neck and on chest. Luckily there are some home remedies that won't leave a hole in your pocket and have your skin looking fresh and clean from acne.

Home Remedies for Acne Treatment

Oatmeal - Yes I did say oatmeal, usually plain oatmeal without any added persartives or artificial flavors will do. This is a simple home remedy for acne that is easy and effective to get you the results that you desire. Cook oatmeal as usual, let it cool and apply to your face like a mask, leave it on for at least 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes are up, just wash off your face with warm water.

Another mask used for clearing acne, looks so good you might drink it, instead of applying it to your face. Take a peeled apple, along with a tablespoon of honey and half of cucumber, with some plain yogurt. Mix the ingredients in a blender and apply on your face for about 20 minutes. Wash the mask off with warm water to have acne free skin.

Tea bags and basil also have a soothing effective on acne. Simply boil 2 or 3 tea bags along with some dried basil and than apply on face or affected area with a cotton ball.

Vinegar can be a home alternative to curing your acne as well. However you may need to take caution, because the vinegar might sting. This acne home remedy can be used if you are not sensitive to a little tingling sensation. By all means dip a cotton ball in vinegar and apply to the areas where needed. For best results this should be done daily.
