Homemade Deodorants

As the prices in the grocery stores increase, coupled with the increase of gas prices, the number of people creating at home products is increasing. It is often becoming less expensive to make the product than it is to buy the product. This leads to homemade deodorants and homemade anti-persperients.

Homemade deodorants and anti-persperents used to be a common thing. These products used to only available after being created at home. It has only been since the industrial revolution that people have stopped making their own products and have started to purchase the products.

Homemade Deodorants Recipe

To make homemade deodorants that are very much like the purchased deodorants, one only needs a few ingredients. The first of which is baking soda, the second is water, lotion and then perfume.

Method:

Mix the baking soda with just enough water and lotion to create a paste. Then add in a very small amount of perfume or scent to it. Then place the mixture in a used deodorant bottle or other mold for setting. The whole mixture can either dry in the refrigerator or on a window, but the whole thing should dry to a solid.

While this solid may not be as invisible as the store bought varieties, this solid homemade deodorant is highly effective and is great for the skin as well. This is also fairly inexpensive and allows for the recycling of the petroleum based plastic container and the conservation of the non-renewable natural resource, oil.
