Winter Makeup Tips

Varying the makeup that you wear according to season can be very important for your skin. During certain seasons, your skin may become damaged. This is true about winter, which is known to bring wind and cold that may cause your skin to become dried out. Not only may you be able to prevent certain skin problems, but you can just make simple decisions that will make you look the most beautiful during this time. Below are some of the winter makeup tips that you should know about.

Winter Makeup Tips

1. In order to prevent your lips from becoming chapped and cracked, it is important for you to keep them moisturized when you go outdoors.

It is a good idea to apply a lip gloss throughout the day. Whenever possible, opt for a moisturizing lip treatment. Although chap stick may help in preventing cracked lips, lip gloss is known to work better. Water based lip glosses, such as Cover Girl Wet Slicks, are known to be a great choice. No matter what you use, the main key is to make sure that you continuously apply it to keep your lips from drying out.

2. Do not forget about proper skin care, which is very important during the months of winter.

Until you take care of your skin, you will not be able to look your best in any shade of makeup. Keep in mind that cleansing and exfoliating are both important, but especially remember to always moisturize during this time of year. The right moisturizing skin care product will help prevent you from experiencing the dry skin that so commonly occurs during the months of winter.

3. Be sure to choose the right shades of makeup during the winter months.

Advice for Cold Winter Makeup

Keep in mind that winter is not as free and as fun as summer. It is a good idea to mainly opt for neutral shades of makeup, such as light browns, grays, pinks and purples. Don't overdo it with the eye shadow, blush or lipstick. Although bolder colors may be appropriate at night, it is best to go natural during the day whenever you possibly can. If you want to draw attention to one area of your face during winter, it is best to put the most emphasis on your eyes. A smoky eye look will work well during this time of year.

4. Consider choosing a very light foundation.

One of the main reasons that a light foundation will probably work out the best during this time of year is because they usually tend to go well with any skin type. Whether you commonly develop acne or you have very dry skin naturally, a light foundation should work the best on your skin when it is used in combination with a moisturizing skin care product.

5. Do not forget about the importance of wearing sunscreen during this time of year.

Although you probably do not even realize it, there is still a possibility that you may get sunburn during winter, which can ultimately lead to the development of skin cancer. Any time that you spend in the sun or in the car should be accompanied by the use of sunscreen.
