Hair Quick Fixes

May 27, 2008 | Filed Under Hair Styles

To revive or add volume to hair when there is no time to wash it, simply spritz the roots with blow-drying spray and then dry the hair, focusing on the root area.

If your hair starts to drop, tip your head upside down and spritz the roots with hairspray. Don’t be tempted to put too much product on the ends of hair as it will just drag it down.

A handy hair trick: if your hair has collapsed from too much energetic dancing in a club, or if you don’t have access to a blow-dryer, spritz your hair with hairspray and use the hand-dryer in the cloakroom to dry it.

When you are pinning up your hair with hair-grips, lightly backcomb the roots as this will give a longer-lasting hold.

If all hairstyle tricks fail, tie your hair back in a low ponytail, securing it at the nape. For an extra-tight hold, wrap it with a piece of wet string instead of a hair band – the string will contract as it dries.

I am an expert in hair color and artistry. I am also write technical articles for various advice in hair industry magazines. I can tell by the copy for your articles are sent from European origins because of the spelling of colour. Americans spell it color. I preffer the later because I am European trained but I am American. It is important to understand when you advise in such general terms words like “conditioner” need to be more specific. Protien and moisture, work differently. Light conditioning and heavy conditioning are different. Hair tips are great but young girls take this info and add their own spin like forget the heat resistant product and go straight to the heat and guess what? They burn out their hair at the roots! I get these women and girls in my chair and they have burnt frizzy hair. I ask them what are they doing and they have been on yours or similar web-sites giving vague information. Your credibility is not there in the writting. As a service to the public you need to be more specific particular to damage that does and can occur with these types of techniques. Just because its on the web doesn’t make it true. Google you have extended your expert advise beyond your experise.
