Hairstyles can be hard, follow this 4 step guide and you too can get the perfect haircut.

How to get the Perfect Haircut
1. Find the Right Haircut
Start with searching for the right hair style. Look at hairstyle magazines, haircut websites and look around you. See what hair styles and looks catch your eye and what would look good on you. Narrow down the search by deciding weather you want short hair, medium hair or long hair. Most magazines stuck to these categories and quickens your search for the perfect hair cut.

2. Keep in Mind Hair Dos.
The perfect haircut will allow you to style your hair in multipul ways. From fancy up dos to everyday pigtails, make sure your haircut will allow you to look good without having to spend an hour trying to get your hair the way the salon did.

3. Find the Right Salon and Stylist.
Your salon should be clean, well lit and friendly, but more importantly your your stylist. A good stylist is should have one key trait. She/he should be a great listener! They should listen to what haircut you want , how long you want your hair and what color you want it. Secondly they should be able to follow through and provide you with the exact look you found on Katie Couric in last months magazine.

4. Follow up
Every great haircut will eventually grow out. The key to a great haircut is following up every few months, depending on your hair, to get a trim and make sure your mane is looking fabulous before your new hairdo starts to head south.

Powder over the top to dull the blush. Still too much? Use a damp cosmetic sponge to blend in a touch more foundation. Then repowder to give a natural flush finish that blends edges imperceptibly.

Too FAINT NOW? Lightly retouch cheekbones only with the colour remaining on your blusher brush.

DO BROKEN VEINS ON YOUR CHEEKS SPOIL YOUR BLUSH?

Make them work for you. Calm veins with concealer, then powder. You’ll be left with a faint rosy glow. Dust similar toned blusher very faintly on cheek domes for a more controlled flush.

How to Shape Eyebrows - Eyebrow Shaping Tip

April 25, 2007 | Filed Under Beauty and Makeup | Leave a Comment

Shape up your brows to pep up your bambi eyes. So if your forehead is dressed with those lanky brows, you need to get them into fuller, thicker shape. Careful shaping is the result of perfectly made up eyebrow.

How to Shape Eyebrow

  1. First the lower section of eyebrow, then the upper area and finally the centre of the eyebrow’s hair are removed.
  2. Very little wax is applied at the time and a small strip is placed on the wax and pulled against or even in the direction of the hair growth.
  3. You don’t need to use much, and you should not let the wax dry.
  4. Never wax above the eyebrow, only ever shape from below. Waxing from under the brow will widen your eyes and help to get the line even.
  5. Gently hold the skin taut and pull off the waxing strip.
  6. Clean eyebrow area with cotton pad soaked in an antiseptic lotion after the eyebrows are shaped.
  7.  Massage the eye skin with cream.
  8. To give the gorgeous new eyebrow shape emphasis, use an eyebrow pencil or tinted brow shadow to subtly fill in any gaps, and even out the natural color tone.

Eyebrow Shaping Tips

The shape of your eyebrow can add character and complement  the shape of your face. Proper shaping of your eyebrow can offset or highlight various facial features. So before you shape your eyebrows, determine the shape of your face

Oval Face - To enhance your looks further, let the eyebrows turn slightly upwards at the ends. This will reveal the upper part of your face.

Round Face - To add a sensuous curve to your round face and make it look oval , let the line ascend upwards and then drop with a nice arc. The peak of the arcshould occur at the end of the brow. Longer brows tend to widen the face , not narrow it.

Square Face - Let your eyebrow arc stand directly above the pupils to soften the facial contours . To add a feline touch, maintain a balance with a jawline with bold and angled brows.

Long Face - Flatter your face with flat brows that will make your face look rounder and fuller. This will balance out your long face.

Heart Face - Get a rounded arc for your eyebrows to add curves that can soften the face.

Diamond Face- A rounded brow can soften an angular face while a peaked brow can help narrow the width of the distinctive rhombus face.

Still time to let your hair down, before they get all tied up in the coming heat. Get a weekly hair massage with light aromatherapy oils like rosemary and lavender, instead of almond or mustard.

Also try a weekly hair pack, using a handful of marigold, rose and tube rose petals. Dry grind these, add a banana and a slice of papaya and whip it up using either an egg or some yogurt.

Hot Tip: Wear a shower cap on top of this hair pack; flowers petals tend to drip!

Hair growth is usually reduced in winter. To encourage hair growth, try this hair pack.

Take 1-cup honey, 1 cup almond oil and 1 cup strong marjoram tea. Mix and rub all over your head. Keep a shower cap on for about 11/2 hours and then shampoo. Follow up with leave-in conditioner. Boil 1-cup rosemary leaves in ½ cup water and strain.

You can also try herbal steam for your hair. Boil a handful each of thyme, rosemary, lavender and parsley in 1 litre of distilled water. Dip a towel into this mixture, wring and wrap around your hair. Keep it on for ½ hour and feel the difference. If your hair is oily, add 1-cup rum to the mixture. If dry, add a few drops of lavender or sweet almond oil.

Take 1 oz. of rosemary oil, 1/8 oz. of lavender oil. This will last for about 6 months. Simply mix the two oils and store in the dark or in a small amber or lightproof bottle. Put a few drops of the oil on your palm, brush the palm against your hairbrush and then brush your hair.

Tip: One should thoroughly brush the hair. Brushing dislodges dirt and distributes the natural hair oils.

How to Choose Lipstick Shades

April 25, 2007 | Filed Under Fashion Tips | Leave a Comment

Are you always confused about which lipstick shade will complement your skin tone the best? Here’s a ready recknor..

Red/Pink Lipstick: Makes the color seem warmer, but harder and deeper as well. Can also bring out all the red tones, so be careful!

Yellow/Orange Lipstick: Makes the color warmer and softer. Looks great on warmer skin tones, but if you are really pale, can bring out the green/blue undertones in your skin. To be on the safe side, go towards the yellow side, rather than the orange. Too much orange can make skin look gray and sluggish.

Sliver/Gray Lipstick: Adds shimmer, softens, depth. Easy to spot in that light shimmer lipsticks that are so popular now. Adds light and softness to the lipstick.

Whatever skin color you have that you don’t like (like blue or gray under eye circles, redness, pink etc), try not to copy in your lipstick color or undertone as well. It is like wearing a red dress with sunburn! It just makes the problem appear worse than it is.

Benefits and advantages of Doing Facial Massage

The frequency of massaging should be appropriate for the skin’s condition. Those who fear skin problems may continue a gentle, effective treatment on a daily basis, limiting the time to short periods. For those who do not routinely massage their skin, massage every 3-4 days with a massage product.
