American Heart Association 3 Day Diet

Although this diet is named for the American Heart Association, it is not mandated or issued by this organization. The American Hearth Association, 3-day diet has been around since 1985. In essence, it is a diet that professes to rid the body of toxins through and extensive regimen. Dieters will ultimately loss weight because of the strict calorie directives of this diet.

The American Heart Association, 3-day diet focuses on foods that will give the metabolism a boost. Consuming these foods does two separate things. The first is acting as a detoxification. One would eat foods that would naturally detox the body. These food are also high fat burners.

So secondly this diet serves to provide a quick way to lose weight. It is also said that the American Heart Association 3-day diet builds muscle in dieters. An example of a regular breakfast with this diet, would be saltine crackers, and cheese. And, an ordinary lunch would be something like tuna on toast.

Dinner would be made up of vanilla ice cream and cabbage. Dieters are also encouraged to consume caffeine products like tea and coffee. For this and other reasons, this diet has sparked much controversial conversation. It is thought that the types of foods, suggested by this diet are not only bad for the heart, but other parts of the body, as well.

Dieters can only have 1,000 to 1,200 calories per day, of the 3 total days. Some of the foods this diet uses, are high in salt and sugar. Many specialists, don't agree that this is the optimum way of losing weight, and that other avenues should be pursued.

If you're considering this, or any other diet, it is wise to consult your physician. A doctor can let you know whether or not this is a good choice for you, or not. He or she can also instruct you on the benefits of certain diets. So, getting this type of information is crucial to dieting, especially for people who have other health concerns.

If you choose to try the American Heart Association, 3-day diet, remember that it is not recommended, to do so more than 3 days. When dieting you must consider the requirements of the diet, as well as, what your own personal goals are. This is a certain way of gaging whether a specific program is right for you.
