Hemorrhoids, Symptoms & Home Remedies for Hemorrhoids Treatment

Hemorrhoids is a condition wherein the veins inside or outside the rectum is swelling and inflamed. This is sometimes painful and bleeding, especially when you have constipation. It is common to all age brackets, but pregnant women are more prone to hemorrhoids.

Causes of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are commonly associated with constipation and pregnancy; for these create pressure on the hemorrhoid veins. But there are different factors that can cause this condition, such as:

  • Sitting for a long time.
  • Lifting heavy weights
  • Portal Hypertension
  • Eating too much spicy foods
  • Obesity
  • Smoking cigarette while moving bowels can worsen hemorrhoids.

  • Liver disease

Symptoms of Hemorrhoids

  • Hemorrhoids are accompanied by the following symptoms:
  • Enlarge rectum veins.
  • Itchiness and irritation in the rectum
  • Blood staining in the feces
  • Painful bowel movement

Classification of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are divided into two different types: internal and external.

Internal hemorrhoids - These is the type wherein enlarge, swelling veins are inside the rectum. This is not painful and is often unnoticed, although it can bleed when irritated. There are two forms of internal hemorrhoids; prolapsed and strangulated.

Prolapsed are hemorrhoids that are pushed outside because they are too swollen. It can be pushed back inside the anus.

Strangulated on the other hand, are prolapsed hemorrhoids that are trapped outside and can no longer be pushed back.

External hemorrhoids - These are the types that occurs outside the anus. These are prone to thrombosis and can form blood clot.

Home Remedies for Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are not serious and deadly disease. It can be treated with modern medical procedures and over the counter drugs. But if you want safer, cheaper and natural home remedies for your hemorrhoids you try the following:

Dried figs - it is very effective home remedy for your hemorrhoids. It promotes smooth bowel movement. Soak three to four figs in water overnight. It should be eaten every morning with an empty stomach.

Mango seed - this is good home remedy for bleeding hemorrhoids. Dried and powdered mango seed and take in 2 grams dosage mix with honey.

White Radish - this is proven beneficial in treating hemorrhoids. Simply grate radish and mix with honey. Take this everyday to relieve your hemorrhoids.

Sesame Seed - boil 20 grams sesame seeds with 500 ml water. Drink this everyday. It is a great remedy for your hemorrhoids.

Radish - finely ground radish and mix with milk. Apply this directly to the pile. This will help lessen the swelling of the veins.

Cold water therapy - this is another beneficial remedy for your hemorrhoids. Cold water will help in vein shrinkage.

Alum - mix with water and apply directly to the pile. It is proven beneficial in relieving hemorrhoids.

Ginger Juice plus lime juice, mint and honey - this mixture is simple yet effective home remedy for hemorrhoids.

Other Suggestion

If you or someone you knew has hemorrhoids, it is highly recommended to eat foods high in fiber. These promote smooth and regular bowel movement. Drinking lot of water is also beneficial.
