Sunburn Home Remedies

Sunburns can be very painful. The remedies for sunburns are varied, some costing a lot of money. Sunburn remedies need not cost a lot though. There are plenty of things that can be found around the house to aid in the healing of a sunburn to prevent peeling and blistering. There are even some things around the house that one can use to help prevent scarring and excessive peeling after the initial blistering and peeling starts.

Home Remedies for Sunburn & Treatment

While it is best not to get a sunburn, seeing as sunburns can cause some types of cancer and premature aging, sunburns are very common. Methods of preventing sunburns include the use of sunscreen and sticking to shaded areas. Sunscreen comes in many forms, including make up and the normal bottle of sunscreen. The sunscreen can be even worn under other items such as make up.

If a sunburn occurs, quick action can limit the amount of damage it does. The application of a cold, damp cloth can halt the burning process.

Be sure to do this away from the sun, preferably inside a house or building. If this is done in full exposure to the sun, once the cloth is removed and the skin is exposed to the sun, the burning will begin again.

The application of lotion can also limit the amount of damage that is done to the skin. Many times the burning process will remove the moisture from the skin, making it very dry.

Aloe Vera is a well-known burn-healing agent and by using a lotion with this in it, the most healing and damage control can be achieved.
