The techniques used to create highlights may vary from hairdresser to hairdresser but the principles are the same. Hair is sectioned and then the strands are separated out according to whether a
dramatic or subtle result is required.
How to Highlights hair using Color
1. Applying the colour - The hair is sectioned onto strips of aluminium foil. Colour
is applied from the roots down.
2. Folding the Folds - The coloured hair is folded up into the foil to keep the colour away from the untreated hair.
3. Developing colour - Once all the foil packages are in place, the hair is left for the required processing time.
