Hair Loss Treatments

Hair loss can be very devastating, as well as very embarrassing. If you have been experiencing an excessive amount of hair loss recently, there is a good chance that you may want to consider using a hair loss treatment to stop hair loss. Before you do so, however, it is important to have a good idea of what hair loss treatments are available on the market for you to choose from. This article will take a closer look at some of the available hair loss products and how they work.

One available hair loss treatment is Rogaine. It works through the form of a hair loss solution that is meant to be applied directly to your scalp, in the area where you are experiencing hair loss. It's not 100% known how exactly this hair loss treatment works to stop or slow down the process of hair loss and, in some cases, regrow hair. However, it is believed that Rogaine inhibits the enzyme that coverts testosterone to DHT, which is known to be the cause of hair loss. Rogaine is available for both men and women. Keep in mind that this hair loss solution should never be applied anywhere on the body except for the scalp. It's a good idea to talk to your doctor before you decide to use this hair loss treatment.

Propecia is another available hair loss treatment. It is known to work the same as Rogaine is believed to work, by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. Unlike Rogaine, Propecia is not available in the form of a hair loss solution. It is, however, a tablet that needs to be taken on a daily basis. It is mainly used as a hair loss treatment for male pattern baldness. People with liver problems should discuss Propecia with their doctor before taking it. Women who are pregnant should never use Propecia as a hair loss treatment.

Nioxin is a hair loss treatment that is available in the form of a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner. The shampoo is supposed to get rid of any toxins in the scalp, while the conditioners are supposed to moisturize. Nioxin is known to be one of the most effective hair loss shampoos and conditioners.

As you can see, there are many hair loss treatments that are available on the market for you to choose from. Many of these hair loss treatments will stop or slow down the process of hair loss. Some may even help regrow the hair that has already been lost. Keep in mind that no treatment is 100% effective for everyone and, thus, it should not be surprising if a particular hair loss treatment doesn't work for you. Before you decide to use any hair loss treatment, it is a good idea to talk to your doctor beforehand. He or she will let you know if a hair loss solution or treatment is safe to use and may even be able to direct you to a hair loss treatment that may work the best for you.
