Prom Dresses

The prom is a major event in a young teen's life. Prom is the final farewell party and the last chance to have a good social gathering with your beloved friends before they head off to colleges or start their own business ventures. Preparing for the prom can be a timely process, mostly for girls. Boys have it easy they just have to get a rented tux a cool pair of shoes and a corsage. However girls have to go through the works from finding the perfect shoes, hairstyles and accessories, and the perfect dress.

The dress is the most important part of prom night, and it requires a lot of research and dedication finding the perfect prom dress months before the prom. Luckily there are many styles, cuts, and lengths of prom dresses to choose from that will flatter any figure and still make you look like you were prom queen, even if you are not.

Prom Dresses Ideas

Empire Cut Prom Dresses
This is a simple cut where the waistline starts beneath the bust and than continues to flow down into a long and straight skirt.

Princess cut Prom Dresses
This type of dress is great for hiding those problem areas like your hips and thighs. This is a tight silhouette that hugs your body tightly and than flows into a skirt

Sheath Design for Prom
This has body shaping properties. A sheath design is a lovely silhouette that hugs the body in a very flattering way.

High/Low Gowns For Prom
if you want to show off some legs, this is the dress to do it in. The hem is cut shorter in the front, while the back remains long.

Bouffant Prom Dresses
This is a type of style that is puffed out and usually made of rayon or silk. This is a great style for hiding the extra padding that you may have on your backside. This particular style can also be identified as tulle.

Tea length Prom Dress
This is a short gown that ends at the shins. This gives off a more casual appearance and most likely can be worn to other events besides the prom.

Finding Best Prom Dresses

Searching for prom dresses can be time consuming, because you want to find the perfect dress. If you start early you can go through the list to see which cut is right for you. Different cuts and style pair best with different body types. Finding the perfect prom dress takes months of planning and consideration as well. You have to choose a prom dress and see what shoes would match best, how you will wear your hair and what accessories you will pair with your ensemble.

Proms dresses can range form low $100- $500 or maybe even more. So if you choose to blow your wad on a prom dress, make sure it is a dress that you will also be able to wear again for another special occasion. Specialty shops, wedding shops, vintage shops and the internet are all great places to look to find that special dress for your special night.
