Prom Dress Patterns

Not all prom dresses are alike; if they were it would probably be a dull prom. That is why individuality plays a key role in looking for that spectacular prom dress. You picked out the style and the fit of the dress you want and in some cases the designer of the dress. You know the right length and the right color. Now if you decide to go without solid colors, you can go with some patterns of your own. You have to decide your personal style, if you want animal prints, lots of flowers, subtle flowers and the list goes on. Dress Patterns make a unique statement, and show that you don't want to be like the standard belle of the ball all of the time.

Dress patterns come in handy when you cannot find the ultimate dress that you vision so perfectly, you can create your own if you have a sewing machine or a creative touch. You can sketch out a design and take your prom pattern to a tailor and make him do all of the work in creating your unique masterpiece.

You may have seen a certain dress on a celebrity and you could not find it on the rack at any store. There are great internet resources that can assist you in becoming a personal fashion designer for one night for the sake of the prom.

Cocomyles - this is a great website that will let you design your own dress from nothing. There is a link that says "start designing. and you can select everything from size, beading, coloring and fabrics.

Peachberserk - if you are the creative type, you can draw a print yourself and the company will design your own personal prints as well as they have their own designs that you can choose from as well

Promgirl - this popular website will also allow you to be your own fashion designer , you just send them a photo/sketch of the way you want your dress designed and all you have to do is fill in the size and your dress will be ready way before prom.

Prom Dress Patterns Advice

Sometimes designing your own dress can be more than actually buying the dress off of the rack. However it is more rewarding to wear a design that you know you created. So when someone asks you where you got that dress or the name of the designer who designed it, you can say your name with pride.

It is best to look around at discount stores to buy the right amount of fabric. If you have a sewing machine that is a plus, even if you do not know how to sew you can ask a friend or maybe even learn how to sew yourself. That way you will always have a dress that you can remember, and if you have a younger sister or family member, you can either pass it down to them when it is their time for prom or help them make their own unique dress as well.
