Pityrosporum Folliculitis

Pitryosporum folliculitis is a skin condition, where yeast gets into the hair follicles and multiplies. This process produces acne-like spots on your body that tend to itch. Topical therapy usually includes Shampoos like Selsun and Nizoral that is used on the body that is only applied for a short amount of time, anywhere from 10-15 minutes and than washed off. This procedure only needs to be done once a week.

There are other oral treatments that may be effective to help Pityrosporum Folliculitis. Some of the most popular treatments of pityosporum folliculits are Accutane pills, Nizoral and Sporonox. These highly effective pills usually clear up the itch and rash 1 or 2 weeks after consumption. However you may receive more outbreaks until your body gets used to the new medications.
