Religious tattoos have become a practice of modern day society. There are a variety of religions that people are devoted to. Religious followers are so dedicated to their faith, that they actually tattoo biblical scriptures, crosses, the Virgin Mary and other religious symbols and sayings. The most popular religious tattoos that are from Christianity would be crosses and angels. There are other religions and beliefs that people tattoo on their bodies. However some religions state that one should not tamper or puncture their body, but religious followers still seem to get the tattoo.

Buddhism tattoos consist of the bondhi tree, lotus, darma wheel, and the actual image of Buddha to name a few. However Buddha was not a fan of tattooing, because he believed in leaving no attachments behind.
Jewish tattoos are for people who follow their faith; however it is controversial for a Jewish person to get a tattoo, since it was prohibited by Leviticus. However followers still get a tattoo and the most popular tattoo is the Star of David
Christian tattoos are widely worn by people throughout the world. The list is a long list of Christian tattoos, but the Christian tattoos may include the alpha and omega symbol which stands for the beginning and the end. Christian tattoos also consist of rosary beads, praying hands, the image of Jesus. The image of Jesus tattoo is controversial because it is said that no one knew what Jesus looked like, they described Jesus in the bible, and however the images and pictures of Jesus do not compare with the description in the bible.

Brahmins were Hindus of the highest caste and they had no laws against tattooing. In fact tattooing was highly encouraged, their tattoos usually consisted of lines and circles that were placed on the chest, forehead and cheeks to show their loyalty to god. The tattoos were also shown to prove that they were the highest cast in the Hindu society.
